The surge in popularity for gin has served up an exotic Italian option for drinkers with the premium spirit now available in this country.
Award-winning Italian wine producer Bottega, has launched its premium Gin Bacûr (£26, 50cl / £33, 70cl), into the UK market to give customers a taste of the Mediterranean all-year round.
Bottega is a family company located in Bibano, Treviso, north of Venice, that has been producing premium quality, typical Italian wines, grappa, spirits and liqueurs since 1977.
Crafted at the traditional family distillery, Gin Bacûr is made with the finest Italian botanicals boasting aromatic flavour and character.
It is made with water from the Alps and the finest Italian botanicals; juniper from Tuscany; sage from Triveneto, alongside Sicilian lemon zest, that all come together to create the gin’s aromatic flavour and character.
Whether gin connoisseurs are opting for an Italian take on a G&T or fancy shaking things up in a cocktail, this delicious gin is ideal for toasting to the warm summer evenings. Encased in a mirrored copper glass bottle, Gin Bacûr (70cl) is available nationally at Legacy-Brands.store, retailing at £26.
To mark its UK launch, Bottega became the official drinks sponsor for the Rock Oyster Festival in Cornwall earlier this year. The tipple was also tested in more than 30 bars in the Cornwall area. It also created a cocktail – called Rock&Soul – to make the most of its unique taste and mark the involvement with the festival.
Here’s the recipe:
• 40 ml Gin Bacur
• 80 ml ginger beer
• Lemon juice
• Ice cubes
• Sprig of fresh mint
• Lemon peel
• Freshly ground black pepper
Pour the ingredients into a cocktail glass, add ice cubes and stir well. Decorate with a lemon peel, a sprig of fresh mint and freshly ground black pepper to serve.
